Copper Overview
Copper Mountain Resort is a favorite among Summit County locals for winter and summer activities. Located only eight miles west of the Town of Frisco right off of I-70; Copper’s ski mountain boasts 126 trails, 22 lifts, and 2,465 acres of skiable terrain.
The mountain’s unique topography – deemed the “Most nearly perfect ski mountain in North America” by the U.S. Forest Service - allows beginner slopes to be situated on the western side of the mountain, intermediate slopes in the center, and expert terrain on the eastern side of the mountain. Copper’s Park and Pipe offerings include the Main Vein Superpipe, Catalyst Terrain Park, Eagle Jib Park, the Jibberish Park and Kidz Terrain Park.
Three base area villages serve the resort - East Village, The Village at Copper (aka Center Village), and Union Creek. Restaurants, lodging, nightlife, and shops round out the off-slope activities available. A skating pond and tubing hill are popular attractions, as are snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and dog sledding.
The Woodward at Copper ski & snowboard training camp offers year-round camps for all levels of skiers and riders. A state-of-the-art 19,400 square foot indoor training facility known as “The Barn” offers off-the-snow training equipment. You can bring a friend and spend all day jumping on tramps, flipping on the spring floor, sliding on the rails, and learning new tricks off the snow-flex jump!
Summertime at Copper means outdoor fun! Hiking, mountain biking, free chairlift rides, and North America’s highest golf course offer plenty of variety. Woodward at Copper’s summer camp also includes skate tours, go-carts, rock climbing, and more in addition to ski and snowboard training.
